KEVIN ODOM FIRST TEAM ALL AMERICAN SCHOLAR

Of the select few who give what is required to excel, Kevin Odom stands out and has been awarded the highest honor of First Team All American Senior Scholar for Pop Warner Little Scholars (PWLS). Kevin has received this highest honor at the Mid-Florida, Southeast Region and National levels. Kevin was one of several scholar-athletes selected as a recipient of this prestigious award. The 46th Annual Scholar All-American Banquet took place Friday, May 26 & Saturday, May 27, 2006 at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, FL. Kevin is an incoming freshman at Winter Springs High School. He previously attended Indian Trails Middle School and Red Bug Elementary.
Each year, the most academically accomplished Pop Warner kids compete for Academic All-American status. This process begins at the association level and up through each of the eight Pop Warner regions to the national level. Approximately 380,000 kids participated in Pop Warner. This year’s All-American Scholars comprise the top one percent of all Pop Warner participants nationwide, and the average grade point average was an incredible 98.1 percent. All-American Scholars, based on a score calculated from the student’s grade point average and addendum activities. First Team All-American Scholar is the highest achievement a Pop Warner student-athlete can achieve, with only 35 football participants and 25 cheerleaders and dancers selected per grade level. First Team All-American Scholar’s in eighth grade and higher are also eligible for one of many scholarships that are awarded at the National Scholar Banquet. Kevin received two such scholarships. One at the Mid-Florida level and one at the National level.
